Your Identity in the I Am
Issue 027
AUGUST 15, 2018
God loves you. Three simple words that hold a great abundance of value. These three words: God. Loves. You. A statement that you perhaps hear often, but how often do you actually just soak this in?
It’s quite overwhelming actually. God’s love is constantly pouring over us! This God of GREAT LOVE is the same One who created the universe!
He is the I AM.
He set the planets in motion and perfectly designed the details within a little tangerine.
The God who knows every detail of every single human’s heart. The God who is infinite in wisdom.
The Lord who makes evil flee,
The Lord makes creatures tremble at the sound of His voice.
The Lord who showers the earth with rain and directs lightning and thunder.
THE God who has the greatest name in all the Earth
He designed you.
HE LOVES YOU!
The I AM - the only being that has a right to declare who you are - is crazy about you!
That’s overwhelming.
He is that…and much more! He wants you to know how loved you are by Him! God wants to call out the goodness in your heart. He wants to encourage you, and continue to reveal your identity to you.
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” || 1 John 3:1a
In 2 Corinthians 5:17, God’s Word shows that we are a new creation and our old identity from the world is no longer present, but we hold a new identity in Christ: being a Child of the King! I am overwhelmed by my own identity every day.
I can now walk in great confidence knowing that I am born again in righteousness, and that my identity holds the goodness of God. This identity flourishes when we spend time with our Father and receive the love he lavishes on us.
When you begin to feel yourself getting short with the people around you, take time and turn to God to fill you with His love. Spend time in His Word every day and let Him speak TRUTH into your heart. We are held to a high standard. We represent The Most High King! Be set apart from the world. . . represent God’s love by receiving it first from Him daily. He longs to overflow your cup with His compassion, all you need to do is simply receive.
"'My son,' the father said, 'you are always with me, and everything I have is yours." || Luke 15:31
